Our initial comprehensive bariatric consultation fee is $300. A portion of this will be rebated by medicare.
Fees for weightloss and metabolic surgery can vary depending on a number of factors including:
- are you undergoing a primary operation or revision surgery?
- do you have private health insurance that covers bariatric surgery?
- are you self funding the surgery?
Please contact us and we would be happy to provide you with an estimate of costs based on your individual situation.
Private Health fund rebates can vary between funds.
Self funding surgery is an option if you do not have private health insurance. This means you cover the cost of the hospital stay and procedure as well as the surgical and anaesthetic fees. You still do receive a rebate from medicare in this situation. The decision to self fund is an individual one. There is a small risk of increased hospital costs with a prolonged stay.
In some cases superannuation may be accessed to help cover the costs of the procedure. We would be happy to discuss this option with you. Please note that accessing superannuation may have tax implications and it is advised to seek relevant advice from an accountant or financial advisor.
We partner with the hospitals that provide competitive rates for self funded surgery.
Our focus is on helping our patients lose weight and stay a healthy weight thereafter. Read more ...
